Team development
Team work is without a doubt the most common form of work structuring in today's working world. By distributing responsibilities and bringing together a variety of skills, it is assumed that tasks will be addressed more effectively. But a team isn't necessarily more productive than the sum of its individual parts.
More often than not, loss of potential is experienced due to a variety of factors:
- Inefficient processes
- Unprofessional communication
- Unresolved conflicts
- Or perhaps simply a lack of team identity.
In order to quickly achieve synergies in team work, it is often necessary to introduce systematic team development.
The goals of team development are:
- Optimising collaboration and communication
- Overcoming conflicts and barriers within the team
- Developing strategies, guidelines/rules and goals together
- Achieving more motivation and identification
The methods used are as diverse as the companies who profit from them. AHRENS & PARTNER works with a wide portfolio of methods and approaches. Depending on context, situation and objectives, team development can take on a variety of shapes and forms, including:
- In-house
- In a seminar hotel
- On a sailboat
- At a mountain location
- Or at a wild-water location
In certain situations it may make sense to integrate the use of new media. For instance, AHRENS & PARTNER developed an internet-based instrument for team diagnosis -
Team Temperament Analysis (TTA) - which can be used prior to a presence event. Also, in developing so-called virtual teams, the use of new media in combination with presence events is often a method of choice.
